Where Heartcease fits
Heartcease is an Love Anima, filed under “Backline Carry” in the archive. Backline carries are the damage plan — they need the front row to hold without them.

Heartcease — story entry
Contrary to its fragile appearance, Heartcease possesses great strength, able to survive alone in the harshest of climates. Yet it cannot unravel the mystery of "Love": forever caught between steps of advance and retreat, hesitating between honesty and restraint, stumbling over the rhythms of Change. It fears that too fierce a passion might make another falter. It fears that, once it has known the heartbeat and breath of a beloved, it will never again endure the wilderness of solitude. It fears that love, once cherished, might one day curdle into Hate. Heartcease worries that in this dance called "Love," it has already lost the beat-though the electrocardiogram etched across its chest surges wildly. If you hope to lead Heartcease out of the wilderness, you may need to offer it a love it never expected... for it has always been waiting, hoping to see the hint of a mast rising at the edge of the barren horizon.
